Alone with God is a collection of prayers for each day of the year written by the founding editor of The Upper Room daily devotional guide. The short prayers were composed over a long period and used mainly in Emmons' personal devotions. After his death, the prayers of adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication were compiled and published in this small anthology.
Note: Inclusive language was not part of the social concerns during the 1940s when Emmons wrote. However the central message of these prayers is inclusive and speaks clearly to today’s social consciousness.
