“Therefore if anyone is in Christ they are a new creation; the old one has gone, the new one has come.”
2 Corinthians 5:17

A Note from the Director

On Friday, April 25, 2008, a historic event will take place in the Emmaus and Chrysalis movements.  As you already know, the lay leadership for both movements was combined into one position in 2007.  While there are different age groups, there is one message, one cross, one Jesus.  Wayne Ingle has spent the past six months working with me and bringing me up to speed on some of the finer points of the Chrysalis movement.  Now, for the first time, Emmaus and Chrysalis will be sending delegates to the International Advisory Committees on April 25 in Nashville.  Delegates will be representing laity and clergy from all five regions in the United States, Costa Rica, United Kingdom, South Africa, Puerto Rico and Mexico.  We are expecting fifty to sixty delegates to be in attendance.

During these meeting sessions we will visit our past, spend time discussing our current successes and challenges and look to the future of both movements.  We will take time to do some team-building, engage in breakout sessions for discussion, and finally, on Sunday, April 27, 2008, we will share in the sacrament of Holy Communion in The Upper Room Chapel.  While we will be spending a lot of time in official sessions, we will be taking some time to see some of the Nashville area and some time at meals to get to know each other better.  This should prove to be a very rewarding time for all of the attendees that will provide direction and visioning for both of these movements with which we have been entrusted.

It is the hope and prayer of The Upper Room Emmaus and Chrysalis office that these two movements will continue to move forward; not as a father/son or a mother/daughter relationship but as brothers and sisters, sharing the message of Christ together, side-by-side.  We are disciples making more disciples.  Please join us in prayer as we continue to serve Him, together.
