
Qualities of Applicants
We seek pastors who:
- Have a clear commitment to a disciplined spiritual life that can be affirmed by others.
- Desire supportive covenantal relationships with colleagues, and they’re willing to help make such relationships happen.
- Possess emotional and spiritual maturity.
- Have a heartfelt love for the local church and a desire to be faithful to that call.
- Have a passion to assist local congregations open themselves to God’s formative power in the lives of individual members as well as the structures, systems and processes of the church.
- Recognize the potential of worship and preaching to shape the spiritual life of the congregation.
- Open themselves to new ways to foster “an environment of grace” in the congregations they serve.
- Have experience as a participant in small groups and some experience facilitating small groups.
- Are willing to commit to challenge of organizing and/or joining a clergy peer group for Phase Three of CiM 2
- Have some experience in an intense program of spiritual formation in a community setting (such as the Academy for Spiritual Formation).
