Yesterday, the verse about stillness came to me – and how I needed it – the Spirit knew that. It helped again this morning to see it, to re-focus me, to try to enter into that stillness. Today has the potential to be very frustrating – dealing with a group that is divided instead of cohesive. Unfortunately, due to illness of another, I have become the leader – and my attitude is poor. I am not sure I have the fight in me to lead this group. Father – I ask You for patience for today. When I become frustrated, help me to act in accordance to Your glory. Help me to guide the group, to keep them on focus. When I want to bail, make me aware of Your presence and I will seek You. And Father, make me very aware of my own plank, before I go looking for the speck.

The stillness verse speaks to me today. It is tempting to get into work-work-work, with a holiday that brings the entire family to town, and Christmas coming, and a possible move if that is God’s will. The verse calls me to stillness, listening, prayer, surrender, trust in God’s faithfulness and leading. Before work begins, I need to take my hands and mind and spirit off of the work. I need to be still, and let God be God in my life and work. God is always present, and God blesses in the stillness. Thamk You, God.

Iv been here before…with way too much on my To Do list–police report for stolen car, invoices b/c bookkeeper sick, issues with boyfriend, need for serious discussion with co-worker, need to eat, exercise…. Lord, you have been at this place with me many times and many times I have made it and made it well b/c of you. Help me to remember and to trust your love for me. Help me to do my part, trust you and to BE in the business of life.

I pray that today and every day God give me the courage, strength and wisdom to do His will.

In the stillness I pray, “God, grant me the knowledge of your will for me today, and the strength to carry that out.”

I pray for hope and faith as we wait for test results for my granddaughter–results that could be serious or nothing. I pray also for my daughter as she copes with too much physical and mental stress. I pray for God’s stillness and peace–that we will know that God is God and we are not and we can trust Him. I pray for God’s presence in our lives right now–that he would cover us with his blanket of peace.
