Life-Giving Breath
November 11th, 2009Wednesday’s Reflection
GOD INSPIRES US with every breath. New ideas, behaviors, and practices flow into our lives with each breath. Breathing within each breath, divine inspiration continually gives us all the resources we need to respond to every life situation. Pause awhile and notice God’s life-giving breath in your life.

Today’s Scripture Reading

- Hebrews 10:24, GNT
This Week …
- Special Need:
- This Week: Pray for public servants and veterans. Add your prayer to the Prayer Wall.
- Tips for Your Spirit:
- Praying with Eyes Open. Many of us were taught to close our eyes when we pray. Praying with icons is an ancient prayer practice that involves keeping our eyes wide open, taking into our heart what the image visually communicates. Try praying with icons.

The songs of yesterday were wonderful – sing on all! Make a joyful noise to our Creator.
The prayer of my heart today is a more continual awareness of Christ. I am trying to walk in Brother Lawrence’s shoes…practicing the presence of God. Saying the Jesus Prayer more and more throughout the day. When thoughts come that are not glorifying to God – immediately go to that prayer…Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

The prayer of my heart is that I make the right decisions with respect to the growth of my business; that my husband’s work at school continues to progress, despite the ups and downs; that my son continues to progress at school and in his application for college; that my mother continues to heal after the fall that she had about 10 days ago. I pray that my participation as an accompanist for the children’s choir is a blessing to others (and me).
Your presence and participation in this community is so encouraging. I pray that others will find a place where they will be heard and that they will develop in their walk.

The prayer of my heart today is that I want to feel closer to the Lord, that I may be able to truly hear Him in my life.

My prayer for today is that my 15 y/o daughter receives the help she needs to battle against her bi polar disorder, and she can find it in her heart to come back home. Love her Mom. Thank you God for giving me the strength to handle all that has been assigned to me. In Jesus name I pray.

Again the Psalmist: “As the hart panteth for the waterbrook, so my soul panteth for thee, O God.”

I pray that I have a pure and teachable heart. That as I breathe in life giving Spirit that others will see less of me and more of Him.

My prayer today Lord is for the soldiers in all armies around the world. Oh Lord, they are the victims of man’s greed and hatred. Be with them today and everyday as they give up their personal lives to serve their countries. Please put your healing hand on the physically and spiritually wounded. And hold their families in your hand, Lord, and calm their fears and teach them to cast their cares on you. Lord I so pray for peace and love here, now for all of us. We love you and we are leaning on you. Amen
