Tuesday’s Reflection
WISDOM VIEWS the rising sun and the majestic silences of nature as daily messages from God. God is patient; God waits for us to get it right — or continues to work with us, despite our every error and lapse of conscience, in the sinews of every prayer and doctrinal attempt, every compassionate act, every encounter with stone and wind, every effort to read scripture and remember the Creator.

How very good to read all the songs on yesterday’s board. Sing a joyful song to the Lord. May the songs continue in each of your hearts today.
Father – thank You for Your continuing work in my life. Your patience is immense, help me to be aware of when mine is running short, and to turn to You.
And Steve – welcome – we look forward to more sharing from you – if you feel led.
God Winks
When I experience special moments in nature I call them “God winks”. Yesterday at around 5:15 am while it was still dark I went out to turn my sprinklers off. I looked up and it was a beautiful starry sky; the dippers, Orions belt were all very evident. Then in a moment it happened! I witnessed a meteor, with its streak across the sky! Yes, God winked at me. Driving on the way home from work, I happen to look up at the some clouds in the setting sky and noticed not the usual arch but a small slice of rainbow between some clouds. It was beautiful and I felt it was just for me. Thank you God for your winks!
Yesterday, we were talking about songs and I said that my favorite gospel song was “Turn your eyes Upon Jesus”…well, a verse from that song got stuck in my head and I thought I’d share it with you…
“Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful Face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the Light of His Glory and Grace”
I’ve been worried about a lot of things lately, my family, my husband, my marriage, our finances, but when I hear this song and think about the words, it fills me with peace because the words are so true…as long as I keep my eyes on Jesus, everything will be o.k.
There is evidence of God in the various paths neighbors created through the snow that merge into one leading up our hill. Our street has not been plowed and we are expecting up to 18 inches more today! (Sounds like Faye is in some far away place where she can see her sprinklers!) I need the songs from yesterday and to seek wisdom from today that will sustain me thoughout this ordeal. I am impatient with the power company, my county plowers, etc but then I think of Haiti, Katrina, Indonesia for perspective.
Where can I look that I do not see evidence of God?
The hard part for me is being still long enough, to quiet my mind and open my heart so that I might know God’s wisdom in the sun, the moon, the stars, the clouds, the wind, the mountains, the trees … Father, I know that Your Spirit lives and moves in all that You have created. Help me to hear the voice You have given to all things so that I might come to know You in all of Your wondrous glory.
I enjoy reading the Today’s Question every day in
the Upper Room Reflections. The suggestion motivates thought and action on my part such as today’s to find evidence of God outdoors. I am unable to go outside today but will look out the window and see with my heart what God wants to reveal to me about Himself.
On Sunday, 2/7, I walked outside my home into one of the most glorious and majestic days I’d ever seen. I had to give the Lord a shout out, so I raised my hands to the heavens and gave the Lord a hand clap of praise….the beauty and majesty overwhelmed me and I just had to give Him his due! All I could says was, “My Lawd, what a morning!”
I had the opportunity to spend some time outside early this morning and took a moment to look at the beauty of the new-fallen snow. It is just amazing that each tiny flake is different from the others.
Thank God for the strength to shovel all of them!
Then I went to the nursing home to eat lunch with my Mom and took another few moments to let the beauty of the red amaryllis plant in full bloom in her room speak to me about God’s wonderful creation!
LORD, give me the wisdom to see you in everything around me. Blessings to all.
Oh, goodness– evidence of God? Buried under 6″ of evidence is innumerable evidence of God’s goodness and mercy. The greatest evidence is in the smiles and kind words of fellow travellers on this Journey, travellers reflecting God’s love for his children. Thank you, friends : )
It was so beautiful a few days ago. The new snow looked like it was covered in sparkling diamonds. Only God could create such a sight.
The morning sunrise in the east over the mountains as I went out to get the paper. Reds, oranges, blacks and beautiful streams of light. All waiting for the rain that has fallen here today along with the snow in the mountains. Glory be to God.
Attended a beautiful memorial at church today for a wonderful sister in Christ. MY, what a beautiful sight she is seeing.
Blessings
Even though it is bitter and cold here in Ohio. The snow on the ground and trees are a relection of Gods nature, It is beautiful glistening with white snow. Looking at the sky and knowing up above those clouds is heaven. What a rejoicing thing to know that there is a heaven and God.
Love you with all my heart…God, Amen….!
