Wenesday’s Reflection
FRIENDSHIPS and intimate relationships are treasures–gifts from God–to be tenderly held and carefully cultivated, never to be rushed or taken for granted or used for any other purpose than honoring the mystery of the other. For when our relationships take root in reverence, our life with others and our life with God is truly one life.

God I give thanks to you for you being a freind to me and unconditionally Love that you have and give. You are the best friend I have ever had and I can always rely on. Love you with all my soul and heart God…..Amen!
As I read through all the entries yesterday – I lifted prayers to the Throne of Grace for each one that was hurting. I am thankful for the openness and willingness to share. Father, thank You for these dear ones and the special relationship that we have here on this message board. United by You, united to You. Father, continue to draw near to each one – where the pain is incredibly deep, soothe with Your tenderness. Give hope, Father – some need it so desperately. Continue with us along our individual paths – that ultimately lead to the Cross and to You.
Recently a person from a former church, which I have not attended in about 6 years after having moved away, called me to ask about me. I would have recognized her voice anywhere. Emails sent to me from the church had been returned for several months due to my changing my email provider. I had not contacted them with my new email. The only real contact for a long time was that my name was buried in the list of email recipients.
It was so special for her to take time to call me so out of the blue. It was very joyous for me. I thank God for the church and for her. Thank you DD, if you or someone from St Timothy sees this!
Thank you Jill…that was beautiful:)
God Bless you.
Thank you Cathy.
Thank you Donald…thanks for the idea to plant something in memory of my mom…I think that I’ll do that.
This morning’s devotional about special friendships struck a chord with me. I am an early riser (not on the east coast), and frequently, Penny, Jill and Charlotte, your posts are the first thing I see after getting out of bed. I look forward to “visiting” with you and praying with you each morning. I don’t post very often, but please know that I’m here. I think and pray about you, you give me strength, and I consider you to be dear friends. Thank you, Father, for each of the Treasures from God who help and support each other on this wonderful website. Praise you, Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
God, I am thankful for everyone you have put in my life. I am especially thankful for the friend I have in my husband. He is a close dear friend who has shared with me the ups and downs in life over the past six years. He is the one who gave me the best gift a person could give. The gift of motherhood. He gave me a daughter to whom I can grow a friendship with as she becomes an adult. Thank you God for my little family. Amen
It has been a long time since I visited here. It is blessing to return today.
Thanks be to God for every Christian Brother and Sister whom I have “met” here. We bear each other’s burdens, shoulder each other’s cares. We lift one another’s needs together before our Lord– and somehow, they no longer seem so difficult to bear.
I am thankful for this space and for these hearts that fill it with Jesus’ love.
I see in today’s reflection the importance of respect for an enduring friendship and the need for nurturing it with love, compassion and care.
The meaningful hymn “What a friend we have in Jesus” comes to my mind. For all of us, Jesus is a special friend in common, that we are able to share and support each other through this site, by prayer. I thank God for this opportunity and these friends. Each one is unique in God’s sight and He is able to heal us and make us whole, to live a life acceptable to Him.
Thank God for all the special friends He has provided for me in this earthly life and for their part in nurturing the relationship. “A friend in need is a friend indeed”.
My wonderful Daddy once told me that during my life time I would have a lot of acquaintances but I would only be able to count my friends on one hand. That seems to be true for me. Jesus of course being #1 and of the others, 2 have passed and are are walking with him and the other 2 are still alive.
We have cried, laughed, watched families grow, seen loved ones pass and through it all #1 friend has guided us and walked with us. We each came to him at different times in our lives and shared him with each other at different times but in the latter part of our lives he was the main focus that bonded us.
Thank you Father God for friends, thank you for acquaintances that come in and out of our lives and mean so much to us in that passing time. You are the best friend that anyone could have. I love You and I praise You. In your son Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.
Missed you, Heidi.
Last year two of my dear high school friends met with me for lunch and it was as if we had never been apart all those years. Somehow, with growing families and life situations, we had become disconnected.(I had attended grade school with one of them.) We wondered “how could this have happened? How could so many years fly by so fast?”
It is easy for this to happen with our faithful living also. I want to always live for Christ, but I know I must always be vigilant.
The Lord is good worship him!
