Words of Gratitude

by Editorial on July 28, 2010

EACH OF OUR ACTIONS has consequences that radiate out into the universe, shaping the lives of persons we will never meet. A simple word of gratitude can transform another person’s life and create a chain reaction that will positively transform many others. A word of welcome to a stranger can awaken a sense of value and purpose that is passed on from generation to generation. Often unbeknownst to us, our prayers shape the world to come and transform the lives of others.

This Week …

Special Need:
This Week: Pray for peacemakers everywhere. Add your prayer to the Prayer Wall.
Tips for Your Spirit:
Praying with Eyes Open. Many of us were taught to close our eyes when we pray. Praying with icons is an ancient prayer practice that involves keeping our eyes wide open, taking into our heart what the image visually communicates. Try praying with icons.
Saints, Inc.:
This week we remember Ignatius of Loyola (July 31).

Father – I lift up Roberta to You. Sustain her and those nearest to her. I know that You honor faithfulness and she has certainly labored in love for her husband. Be very near to her during the next couple of days and the activities that ensue. Continue to carry out Your will and help each of us to faithful in our part.

Lord , Lift up my wife Wendy She is the hardest worker I know and at the end of the day she needs spiritual guidence. Just the smallest thing will set her off to anger. I just want piece in her heart, and enjoy life, and just worry about the big things in life. And don”t dwell on the small stuff. I love her with all my heart.

Bless you, Jill and Wendy’s husband for your consideration of others. Roberta now comes to my warm thoughts and Wendy, may her acknowledgement of God’s love strengthen her faith in Him to take the sweat from her brow.

This reflection is lovely. We never see all those ripples but we certainly feel the effects of them ourselves, not always knowing where they have come from except that God in his love has touched us. Lord bless all those who pray for others and especially all those who read this page and meet in you.
Roberta, my prayers have been with you also and will continue. It is not an easy time. My experience in a similar situation has taught me much about God’s love and the many ways it comes to us. They haven;t been easy lessons .He will be holding you even when it doesn’t seem like it. Be patient and loving to yourself also. Grief can overwhelm us in such unexpected ways. Don’t try to meet the expectations of others or even those you have for yourself. They can be unrealistic. And watch your own health as your whole system has so mush to deal with.
