Cooperating with Grace

Sunday’s Reflection

JESUS ACCEPTS US AS WE ARE but never leaves us as we are. As we open up to him, he begins a transforming work in our lives from the inside out, forming his heart in our heart, his mind in our mind. The love that woos us, the love that draws us, also changes us. But we don’t sit back and do nothing. Although grace is opposed to earning, grace is not opposed to effort. If we want to experience the change that Jesus can bring, we need to cooperate with him.

Today’s Scripture Reading

“If you are really wise, you’ll think this over—it’s time you appreciated God’s deep love.”

- Psalm 107:43, the message

This Week …

Special Need:
This Week: Pray for peacemakers everywhere. Add your prayer to the Prayer Wall.
Tips for Your Spirit:
Praying with Eyes Open. Many of us were taught to close our eyes when we pray. Praying with icons is an ancient prayer practice that involves keeping our eyes wide open, taking into our heart what the image visually communicates. Try praying with icons.
Saints, Inc.:
This week we remember Ignatius of Loyola (July 31).

By being attentive – being aware of when opportunities present themselves. Doing the next thing with love. Being authentic.

By letting go of my fears, my worries, my doubts, and trusting Him wholeheartedly by surrendering to Him my life — mind, body, and soul.

Just now catching up on the last couple of days. Thank you, Jill.
And, Roberta, I still hold you close in my prayers.
