The Pockets Children's Advisory Board is very important!
The Children's Advisory Board includes 20-22 children who serve for one year. They help us keep Pockets entertaining, exciting, and important by doing several things. First, members evaluate each issue of Pockets, telling us what they liked and didn't like and why. This helps us decide what things to include in future issues and what kind of illustrations to use. Second, members help us decide on what themes to use for future issues. (Each issue of Pockets has a different theme, such as "Friends," "How To Get Close to God," "Family Fun," and "God's Surprises.") Third, members answer questions for us that tell us what kids think about certain things, such as what teamwork means to them or why Christmas is special for them. And fourth, members tell us jokes and riddles and other things that we may print in Pockets.
You can "meet" our advisory board members by checking out the Club Pages of every print issue of Pockets. On the Club Pages we feature members of the advisory board in the Advisory Board Spotlight. If you are interested in being a member of the board, you have a chance to apply each July. In each July issue of Pockets, you will find an application form with a deadline to apply. If you apply, be sure to send a photo along with your application. Or you can get more information by e-mailing us.
