Love Pockets
Is there someone you have trouble
liking? Are you angry at someone right now? Is there a group of people
you have trouble understanding because the people are different from
you? Is there someone you need to be especially loving toward right
now? Is there someone you need to say "I appreciate you" to?
God can help us when we feel
bad toward others or when we forget to show how much we care about someone.
Here is something you can do to help you remember that you can talk
with God about the trouble you are having with another person.
- Fold a piece of construction
paper in half. You might want to decorate it on each side.
- Punch two holes in the ends
opposite the fold.
- Tie yarn through the holes
to make a handle.
- Hang your love pocket near
your bed.
- Write on pieces of paper
the names of people you need to talk with God about. Put the names
in your love pocket.
- Each morning before you go
to school and each night before you go to bed, reach into your pocket
and pull out a slip of paper.
- Say a prayer about the person
whose name you drew. Ask God to help you be more loving toward that
person.
