Talking About Prayer
Does your family have special times to pray together? Many families
have mealtime or bedtime prayers together, but family members also have
their own times of individual prayer.
Here's an activity your family can do together to talk about your
prayer times. Pick a time when the family can be together. Invite family
members to bring special items that are important to their prayer life.
Some examples might be: a Bible, a cross, or a copy of a special prayer.
Your family might think of many others!
Copy the statements below onto slips of paper (or print out a copy
of this page and cut apart the questions). Let each family member draw
a slip of paper and complete the statement. Keep going until all the
slips have been drawn:
My favorite time to pray alone is: ____________________.
My favorite place to pray alone is: ___________________.
Sometimes I forget to pray when: ____________________.
A time when I really felt God was listening to me was: __________________.
Something that could help me to remember to pray more is:________________.
A time when I wasn't sure God was listening to me was: __________________.
