From the Center is a monthly email newsletter from The Upper Room that provides you with resources for your soul care as a spiritual leader.
The Upper Room, like the church, yearns to meet people where they are. Some of us hope there is grounding beneath all these shifting sands of our world and culture. Some of us wonder if there is a safe place to be vulnerable. Some of us want to develop the empathy that supports our call to action and justice.
The staff and community of The Upper Room are experiencing the challenges of leading in a world that no longer turns to the church as authority or guide. We are hearing a call to walk alongside those who are wounded in our world. We look forward to our journey together toward being a new kind of people.

Seeing young people, both men and women, participate in and write their testimonies at The Upper Room daily devotional writers’ workshop in Yangon, 2019, has been a highlight for me. The event and testimonies led to the publication of the first Lenten devotional in the Myanmar language. I truly believe that through The Upper Room ministry, the Lord will continue to equip people in Myanmar to grow and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
