NASHVILLE, Tenn. August 31, 2021 / The Upper Room / The Upper Room will host RESILIENCE | Healing Practices for Mind, Body, and Spirit, an online conference open to all who seek healing and wholeness after the long trauma people have experienced as a global community. The virtual conference will take place September 30–October 2, 2021.
The world has changed. People’s lives have changed. Resilience matters. Kara Lassen Oliver, Executive Director of The Upper Room Center for Christian Spiritual Formation, and workshop leader for the conference states, “Many of us have never experienced a deeper longing or desire to develop resilience, to recover from difficulties. The pace and persistence of change over the past two years have created layers of trauma and exhaustion in our individual lives and as collective communities.”
The RESILIENCE conference will provide space for people to find rest and renewal and to explore healthy spiritual practices as they begin to make their way in this new world and to heal. Oliver continues, “Through RESILIENCE, The Upper Room invites anyone longing for rest, renewal, and recovery to come experience spiritual practices that tap into the steadfast love of God, which renews us and enables us to thrive as faithful disciples who point to hope in our world.”
RESILIENCE will include storytelling, time for personal reflection and conversation, guided spiritual practice, and worship. This time of gathering will introduce spiritual tools that individuals can use in their own healing journey or in the healing journey through which they lead others.
