March 28 Psalms 27:14 Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD! James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. Sometimes (let’s face it, most times), waiting can be the hardest of things. We have been conditioned by society to have a need for instant gratification. Everything we need or want is right at the end of our fingertips. It is crazy and tempting to know that we can get everything from a relationship to cheese at the click of a button. Our first verse today comes from the book of Psalm. Here, we are told to wait on the Lord and in this period of waiting our hearts will be strengthened. There are many prayers and situations in my life that needed time to both marinate and give time for God to do His thing. the truth is, we are on Gods time not our own. God created time s therefore it has no bearing upon Him. He will bring about His will when the timing is right for us. This fact leads us to our second verse of today. Various trials and testing. Most often when we are praying and expectant of an immediate resolution to the situation it does not come near our time or even close to the outcome we had in our minds as a result. However, God did and will continue to deliver us from all those things that come against us if we keep our eyes focused on Him and strive to walk out the circumstances in a manner pleasing to God and reflecting those truths, we have learned walking with Him thus far. Waiting on the Lord can be nerve wracking but, in the end, the most rewarding. Both in our overall lives and walk with Him, but also in the development of who we are in the Body of Christ. God will not allow us to go through things that serve no purpose for our development of faith and strengthening our relationship with Him. In closing, I encourage all of you to lean on Jesus no matter what you are facing. Walk out those truths that He has taught you. For it is bot pleasing to Him and rewarding in our Heavenly treasure trove. Encourage others going through things to do the same and thus glorify Heaven and Him who freed us. - Lord, You have seen each of us through so much. Remembering that truth will strengthen us through those trials that will inevitably come our way. You are faithful Lord. Knowing that, being able to see that truth at work in my life and the lives of those around me is one of the greatest joys of walking with You and serving Your purpose. Bless this day with open eyes and full hearts Lord. Let Your Joy reflect to others and be as a contagion, infecting everyone we encounter, lighting their lives. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
