There are some good ideas in the Christian religion, but not everything it says is true. A loving God would not create a place like Hell. A loving God would not treat the two sexes as though they were not equal.

I am not saying this to hurt you. I believe there is an afterlife. I believe that good and evil exist.

Many people have claimed to have near death experiences. They say they have seen things on the other side that confirm there is something good waiting for us and that moral behavior on this earth matters. One such person is Andy Petro. You should look him up on Youtube. He recounts his own near death experience and how it changed him for the better.

What I am trying to say is that being a Christian is not the only way to find hope after death. Or meaning in life. Or a reason to choose good over evil. There are other paths in this world.

I am currently studying some of the ideas in the New Age movement and listening to stories of near death experiences like this one. I think you should do the same thing.

I can not personally vouch for every idea you might hear in New Age circles. Some things might be right, and other things might be wrong. But I can tell you with clarity that some things in the Christian religion are right, while other things are wrong. I can also tell you that there are some Christians who left Christianity and say they have found greater spiritual fulfillment in New Age ideas.

If I were you, I would take the good things that Christianity taught me, like love, humility, truth, justice, integrity, courage, wisdom, etc. But I would leave the things that violated your conscience.

Like I said, a loving God would not create a place like Hell. A loving God might believe in justice after a person died, but they would NOT create a place like Hell, because that defies justice. A loving God would also not believe that men and women were inequal, because that defies the idea that character is what’s most important. Think about it. Doesn’t it say in the Bible that people look at the outside appearance, but God looks at the heart? That wouldn’t really be true if God created a hierarchy in the human race based on gender. If God created a hierarchy in the human race based on gender, then an individual’s character isn’t really what’s most important to God.

I think you should listen to some other ideas besides what you hear in the Christian church. The world is bigger than that.
