NOVEMBER 6 Encouraging Word # 311 Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; 2 but their delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law they meditate day and night. 3 They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper. Psalm 1 Dear Friends, Would you like things to go better in your life? Would you like to have the promise of being successful in all you do? Could you use some more stability and direction in your life? Psalm 1 provides the way to have all of these. Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; 2 but their delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law they meditate day and night. 3 They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper. The key to the most stable and successful life you and I can have is threefold 1. Don’t follow the advice or direction of those who do not honor God. 2. Delight in reading and following God’s word. 3. Memorize and meditate (turnover in your mind, reflect, think about) God’s word. Personally, meditating on God's word for me has always changed me, stabilized my life and brought me success in my work. I just wish I would do it more often. Meditating is more than memorizing; it is stating back to God and claiming the promise of His word. It is also letting God’s word take root in your life. Like a cow chews it’s cud over and over until it is fully digested, God wants us to meditate on His word until it is fully assimilated into our lives, actions and thoughts. The more you and I meditate on God’s word, the closer we get to God. What kind of life would you like to have? It is all there waiting for you as a gift from God.
