I Can Trust God's Extravagant Love, Wednesday, Advent Week 4

Water in the background, with shores showing on the far side. The head of a goose is in the center foreground looking over a wood railing.

© Beth A. Richardson,

Thank you, God, for your delight in me. Let me move from doubt to belief, trusting in your extravagant grace. Let me be your love, grace, and delight for others today. Amen.

Carry These Words in Your Heart Today

I can trust God's extravagant love.

Today's Picture

This is a picture of God's extravagant grace, taken at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina. God lives in the world through abundance, joy, humor, and delight. When I open my eyes, I glimpse God's extravagance everywhere I go.

Where do you see signs today of God's extravagant love and grace?

A Guide to Prayer for All Who Seek God

Rueben P. Job and Norman Shawchuck

This third Guide to Prayer by Rueben Job and Norman Shawchuck opens up the spiritual journey to "All Who Seek God." It's my favorite of the Guides to Prayer, partly because of its accessibility and partly because the voices of Job and Shawchuck speak more clearly through their written contributions.

I join many of those who will pray for you as you seek to discern what you are called to be at this moment. May God grant you the courage to fulfill that calling. May we all open our eyes and see the misery, open our ears and hear the cries of God’s people, and, like God through the Lord Jesus Christ, be incarnate amongst them.”
