God of stillness, it's easy to overlook you in these busy days. Create in me a longing for your quiet presence, that I may stop, breathe, and listen for your wisdom and instruction. Amen.
God waits for me in the stillness.
This is a picture from Penuel Ridge, the retreat center I refer to in The Uncluttered Heart today. This is the place where I learned to be silent, to be still inside. The building in the picture is "The Well," a round chapel made with straw-bale construction.
What are the challenges keeping you from reaching the stillness? What do you need to do in order to find a quiet space?
