Prayer

God, I am open and present. Guide my feet into your way of peace. Amen.

Carry These Words in Your Heart Today

I will walk gently in the way of Christ's peace.

Today's Picture

Today's reading in The Uncluttered Heart was about being fully present in the moment and present in our bodies. Walking on the beach brings me to the present moment. I took this photo as I walked on the beach in South Carolina at sunrise. When I see the picture, I remember the smell of the ocean; the sounds of the wind, the waves, and the birds; the feeling of the early morning coolness and the wind on my face.

Question

What are the greatest challenges you face in attempting to walk in Christ's peace?

Book of the Day

Creating a Life with God

Daniel Wolpert

Today's quote in my book comes from the first of Daniel Wolpert's two books on developing one's relationship with God. The subtitle says it all: "The Call of Ancient Prayer Practices." Wolpert takes 12 prayer practices and makes them accessible to a regular person like me. The Appendix to the book presents step-by-step instructions for one of the prayer practices featured in each chapter. I'd recommend this book for the shelf closest to the place where you have your quiet time.
