More From Esther Bonner

August 24, 2022 by Esther Bonner (California, USA)

A lot of time has passed since I wrote the devotional shared here today. The whole world seems to be in turmoil — floods, massive fires, storms, volcanic eruptions, a worldwide pandemic, war, riots, mass killings, and the list goes on and on.

Staying focused and keeping positive, uplifting thoughts and words flowing has in all honesty been a struggle for me. We can’t bury our heads in the sand; these are difficult times for everyone.

Being kind, thoughtful, supportive, and helpful to others wherever and whenever possible is sorely needed right now. Whether we’re interacting with someone who has suffered a great loss or who is struggling to put food on the table, our encounter with them may be life changing.

Keeping our minds off our own troubles and focusing on others won’t eliminate our problems, but it will minimize them. We serve a great God who has our backs. God will provide the counsel and strength (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual) we need to overcome all obstacles.

Tough times don’t last. We shall overcome with God’s help.
