July 5: A Second Chance

1. When have you been in a hurry and passed up an opportunity to help someone? How will you respond differently if you are given a second chance to help this person?
2. Have you ever felt compelled to take action when it wasn’t convenient to do so? Why do you think you felt this way? How did you respond?
3. Recall a time when you went out of your way to show kindness to someone. What was your motivation? What happened in that situation?
4. How does it encourage you to know that God offers us 
second chances? What second chance in your life has been the most transformative?
5. Who in scripture best exemplifies a second chance? Why? What can we learn from their response to being given a second chance?

July 12: Selah

1. How do you respond to stressful situations? Do you find it easy or difficult to turn to God in times of stress? Why?
2. When have you experienced a much-needed pause in your spiritual journey?
3. Describe a time when scripture provided you with peace and the opportunity to pause. How did your mindset change when you paused?
4. When you experience hardship, how do you make time to pause and be with God? What encourages you to continue praising and trusting God in such times?
5. In what ways does your relationship with God change when you spend more time pausing, reading scripture, praying, and worshiping? Why do you think this is?

July 19: Broken and Loved

1. When have you thought you knew what someone needed, only to learn that you didn’t? How did you feel upon realizing that what you thought they needed wasn’t what they really needed? Why is it sometimes hard to know what others need?
2. What item is special and perfect to you despite its imperfect appearance? What makes this item special? What does it teach you about yourself and God?
3. Do you tend to focus on imperfections or are you able to look past them? Why? How does your answer change in different circumstances?
4. In what ways does knowing that God loves you regardless of your shortcomings and imperfections affect the way you view God? Does it strengthen your faith? How?
5. When you feel unworthy of God’s love, what scripture passages and spiritual practices remind you that God’s love is unwavering? What reconnects you with God?

July 26: In the Eye of the Storm

1. Recall a powerful storm you witnessed. Did the storm teach you something new about God? Why do you think being in nature can reveal new spiritual insights?
2. When has God communicated with you in an unexpected way? In what ways did that communication comfort or impact you?
3. Have you ever felt God’s presence in a storm, whether real or metaphorical? If so, how did you know God was there? If not, where have you most strongly felt God’s presence?
4. Describe a time when a scripture passage took on a new meaning for you. What did you learn or realize? What helped you gain this new understanding?
5. Where do you observe God’s presence around you today? What signs show you that God is near?
