Although much in my life has changed since writing “Lost” in January 2021, I must admit that I am still directionally challenged! I rely heavily on an online mapping service to get me where I am headed in the least amount of time. I have noticed, however, that some lifestyle changes (daily meditation and a reduction of my caffeine intake), have given me sharper focus and have allowed me to be more attentive as I travel. That ability to better concentrate on my surroundings has resulted in fewer directional mishaps!
As thankful as I am for the online mapping service, I am even more grateful for God’s leading as I rely on God’s written word to help me navigate the ups and downs of this journey through life. I am so grateful to my family for teaching me the importance of communing with God through scripture, prayer and meditation. As Psalm 119:11 says, “hiding the words in my heart” allows me to readily recall scriptural truths in those times in which I am starting to veer in the wrong direction.
May your own journey be smooth, with the wind at your back and the sun shining down as you rely on the truth of scripture to remind you that if you do get lost, God is ready and willing to lead you back to God.
As I think of God’s guidance on our journeys, I recall how I came upon this lost pup one day on the beautiful wooded trails near my home. With no collar and no one claiming him, he was surrendered to our local animal rescue where he was quickly adopted into a loving home. Thankfully, God provides for our four-legged friends too!
