The Power of Music

September 6, 2026 by Cindy Lee (England, United Kingdom)

Thank you so much for your valuable comments regarding my previous meditation, “The Right Conditions.”

“God’s Healing Music” was written in response to dealing with a challenging chapter in my life. Before I wrote it, I was anxious and exhausted about a family situation. I was powerless to think properly or even pray. Even though my heart desired to pray and reach out to God, the worry was crippling me. Our loving Creator knew this, and it was then I was drawn to listening to music as a form of prayer and healing.

The worship songs were (and still are) empowering reminders of our Father’s great love and majesty. The Christian songs about strength through adversity were particularly helpful at the time. The spiritual testimonies of each singer’s struggles and their experiences were like modern day psalms similar to those I have always enjoyed reading in the Bible. I am thankful for those lyricists who have taken their emotions and transferred their faith through trials and triumphs with us today. These were the songs, as the mediation reveals, that helped me through my own personal battles at the time. Now, even though it was 2024 when all of this happened, I am still listening to faith-building worship songs.

If you are a musician or a singer, it is an amazing gift God has blessed you with to touch lives, to allow people to experience an emotion they can’t always convey. I am so grateful that songwriters and musicians can touch our hearts with the words we can’t express and create relaxing musical compositions to calm us and draw us closer to God.

Although I am not musical, I do love writing and also reading the meditations that other readers write. Each writer from a global community of believers has unique faith experiences they can share that can draw all of us closer to God.

Wherever you are in the world, I hope you have many blessings in your plans for today and your hopes for the future.
