Since our meditation was published, Tonya has been active passing out The Upper Room to coworkers and friends. She has also been active in getting more cards for strangers to let them know she is praying for them.  Likewise, I have mailed copies to high school classmates and friends across the country and in Nova Scotia.  We purchased 40 copies of The Upper Room and found that we needed to buy another 40 copies to ensure that our friends and neighbors could enjoy reading our meditation today.  What a gift to give others.  It may be the most inexpensive, valuable gift I have ever given.  I am hoping some recipients will even subscribe.  With the same passage of scripture and listening for God’s message today, we feel deeply honored.  I have often thought about other subjects for future meditations and have been encouraged to submit. 

We have had various comments from our friends.  One woman who is a part of our pickleball group said that she and her husband had not gone to church in two years since the death of their son, and reading The Upper Room made her think about going back.  Also, once we contributed we found our joy increased when we discovered the importance of our reading of the selected scripture.  Truly this is the God-driven power for each of the messages.  My wife and I now keep The Upper Room in our Bible as we began our readings.
