The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. . . . they will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God. - Isaiah 35:1-2 (NIV)
As I was walking with my mother this morning, we noticed lilies growing among the overgrown grass and weeds in a lot that has sat abandoned since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. It was both striking and touching to see an example of such beauty in the midst of such ugliness....

Those struggling to feel God’s presence
Respond by posting a prayer.
I join many of those who will pray for you as you seek to discern what you are called to be at this moment. May God grant you the courage to fulfill that calling. May we all open our eyes and see the misery, open our ears and hear the cries of God’s people, and, like God through the Lord Jesus Christ, be incarnate amongst them.”
