Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage

May 12, 2021 by The staff of The Upper Room (Nashville, Tennessee)

During the month of May in the United States, we pause to celebrate Asians and Pacific Islanders as an important part of the tapestry of American society and our church community. Join us for this special service from The Upper Room Chapel as we celebrate the rich heritage of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

The Upper Room is committed to a ministry that is increasingly global, antiracist, and ecumenical. In these days we are called to give special and focused attention to being antiracist. This is the work of discipleship and spiritual formation.

I join many of those who will pray for you as you seek to discern what you are called to be at this moment. May God grant you the courage to fulfill that calling. May we all open our eyes and see the misery, open our ears and hear the cries of God’s people, and, like God through the Lord Jesus Christ, be incarnate amongst them.”
