Lament and Hope: Cultivating Prayer into Action

June 15, 2022 by The staff of The Upper Room

As we are still reeling from the onslaught of gun violence in recent weeks, we invite you to join us for Lament and Hope: Cultivating Prayer into Action, A Vigil for Mass Shootings in The Upper Room Chapel.

With the Psalms as our guide, we seek God’s Spirit in the midst of pain. Trusting that God hears, that God is present, and that the Spirit urges response, our worship is just the beginning of our journey.

Working with partners Discipleship Ministries, Scarritt Bennett Center, and the James Lawson Institute for the Research and Study of Nonviolent Movements, we hope to offer opportunities to respond as faithful people to the evil of gun violence in our midst. We begin in lament, but we seek ways to activate our prayers and to advocate for change.

Join us for worship live from The Upper Room Chapel every Wednesday at 11:00 AM Central time on Facebook or YouTube.
