My Fourth Day Story

October 8, 2024 by Diego Pablo Iñiguez De Heredia

My name is Diego Pablo Iñiguez De Heredia. I attended my walk to Emmaus in Argentina in August of 2019.

The Walk to Emmaus has impacted my life in incredible ways. If possible, I would participate again and again. It was indeed a great blessing for me to spend time sharing individually and collectively with my brothers, as well as time alone with God. Though we were from different countries, we were one in the spirit, seeking and wanting more of God. I left there renewed, both strengthened and encouraged by God to continue to work of carrying out the Lord’s Great Commission.

Long after this initial experience, as I continue to open my life to God, I fast on Wednesdays. I usually open and close this time with prayer. Throughout the day, I am just grateful to be able to spend this time in God’s presence, sharing my concerns, offering myself up to Him and, noticing the ways in which He is at work in my life.

In term of my ongoing growth through study, I continue to be thankful for the work of The Upper Room in the area of spiritual formation. It is a great blessing. Along with my theological studies at Duke University, it has enriched and prepared me for ministry in incredible ways.

As a result of all of this, I continue to be involved in missionary work in South America, Central America, the USA and in some Asian countries (Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China). I am also a member of the National Evangelism Team of the Argentine Methodist Church. In these roles I encourage my sisters and brothers to release the Word of God, to share the love and grace we have received and, to allow the Holy Spirit to do its work in the lives of those with whom we share. As would have guessed, for me, there is urgency in doing so.

While I have never published, I maintain a log of my missionary journeys. As I work with people around the world, I make note of the beautiful and amazing work of the Holy Spirit in the various cultural settings in which I have the privilege of ministering. I must confess that this is an experience that strengthens me as much as I seek to strengthen others by sharing the Word of God with them.

What is my hope for the future? Hope is said to be that which is not seen, but for which we have faith and certainty that, God willing, the requests of the heart will be heard and granted. My hope is that I will remain strong until I attain the purpose that God has given me, that for which He has lovingly equipped me for His glory and honor.

De Colores!
