THE ACADEMY FOR SPIRITUAL FORMATION WILL HOST BILINGUAL (Spanish + English) TWO-YEAR ACADEMY IN 2020
Nashville, TN—The Academy for Spiritual Formation announces it will host a Bilingual (Spanish + English) Two-Year Academy in 2020. This is the first Bilingual Academy since 2011 and is part of The Academy’s vision to form ecumenical Christian communities that embrace the multicultural, multiethnic, interfaith landscape of the 21st century.
Church leaders, both clergy and lay, seeking to deepen their spiritual lives will have the opportunity to find wisdom, renewal, community, worship, and prayer offered in both Spanish and English in order to accommodate The Academy’s growing and diverse constituency.
“We’re excited for the bilingual Academy community to form next year,” said Rev. Stephen Bryant, publisher of The Upper Room. “We look forward to welcoming new people into the necessary and vital spiritual formation work of The Academy, trusting we have much to learn from those who join us.”
Previous Two-Year participants describe The Academy as life-changing, restorative, and spiritually grounding, a necessary offering in an age of deep division and political posturing.
The application process is now open. The online application and more information about Bilingual Two-Year Academy #42 can be found here. Scholarships are available for those who need financial support. Bilingual language skills are not required for participation.
Academy #42 begins August 10, 2020 at Oblate Renewal Center in San Antonio, TX. The Academy creates transformative space for people to connect with God, self, others, and creation for the sake of the world. Learn more about The Academy here.
