God is Doing a New Thing

January 13, 2020 by Stephen D. Bryant

It’s a new year, a new beginning. And we at The Upper Room feel the excitement of God at work, that God is doing a new thing this year.

The Upper Room exists to help people carve out time and space for God in their daily lives. In fact, that is our mission: The Upper Room invites people to create daily life with God.

Why is this important? Daily practice leads to longevity, to solid, foundational growth that keeps us grounded when times get tough. Daily practice connects us with the body of believers who, when reading The Upper Room daily devotional, are united in prayer and purpose. Daily practice gives us hope and encouragement on the journey of faith. It’s fuel in the tank.

This year, we invite you take a closer look at The Upper Room. We invite you to pick up a copy of The Upper Room daily devotional and read it with new eyes. Written by believers from around the world who possess different insights, it may surprise you. We invite you to participate in one of our spiritual growth programs like The Walk to Emmaus or The Academy for Spiritual Formation. We invite you to read one of our books that will restore your soul. We invite you to pray for others on our prayer wall. We invite you to become a part of our donor family, partnering with us in our work because your gift and your faith in us matters.

It’s a new year and a new beginning, but our mission is the same. Please join us. The journey will be great.
