Giving Thanks for Brittany Sky’s Leadership of Emmaus Ministries

Emmaus Ministries and The Upper Room Programs celebrate an exciting new chapter for Brittany Sky, who will transition from her role as Director of Emmaus Ministries to become Director of Children's and Intergenerational Ministries at Discipleship Ministries beginning August 3, 2026. 

Since joining Emmaus Ministries, Brittany has provided thoughtful leadership during an important season of renewal and transition. Her commitment to spiritual formation, community building, and organizational health has helped lay a strong foundation for the future of Emmaus Ministries. 

Reflecting on Brittany's leadership, Johnny Sears, Executive Director of The Upper Room Programs and Director of The Academy for Spiritual Formation, shared: 

“Brittany has been an outstanding part of The Upper Room Programs team and I have truly enjoyed working with her. She has done amazing work in her short time as Director of Emmaus Ministries. The course that she has laid will significantly benefit whoever follows her in this role. For that and the way she has gone about that work, I am deeply grateful. While we will miss Brittany's daily presence within Emmaus Ministries, we celebrate this opportunity to share her gifts more broadly across the church. We are grateful that her passion for spiritual formation and discipleship will continue to shape the lives of individuals, families, and congregations through her new work.”

As Brittany prepares for this transition, Emmaus Ministries is beginning the search for its next Director. We are seeking a leader who feels called to guide this global ministry of spiritual renewal, discipleship, and transformation into its next chapter.
