But “God who works in you means even the desire and strength to obey come from Him. The tension stands Scripture refuses both extremes. You can’t replace dependence on God with self effort, and you can’t replace obedience with passivity. Growth in holiness is God’s work in you that still requires your willing, daily response. So the question becomes are you actually obeying with dependence, or just leaning on one side of that tension?
