I took this picture recently. Coincidentally, it hasn’t bloomed in the past year and is just now blooming at the time of the devotion being published. God’s time? I think so! I’m so thankful to my neighbors Mike and Lynn for the thoughtful gift. When I see the orchid blooming, I think fondly of my dad and mom, and it always makes me smile. But it’s also a reminder that God’s time may not be our time. God’s time is perfect and will generate our own “life-blooms” when God is ready.
I join many of those who will pray for you as you seek to discern what you are called to be at this moment. May God grant you the courage to fulfill that calling. May we all open our eyes and see the misery, open our ears and hear the cries of God’s people, and, like God through the Lord Jesus Christ, be incarnate amongst them.”
