July 3: Embracing Disruptions
1. Where in nature do you most appreciate the beauty of God’s creation? What about this part of nature appeals to you?
2. Have you ever been so focused on one thing that you didn’t pay attention to the rest of your surroundings? What happened? What did you learn from that experience?
3. Do you find it easy or difficult to embrace disruptions in your life? Why? How does your attitude change depending on whether you are embracing disruptions or not?
4. Recall a time when a disruption felt frightening or
destabilizing. Have you since found beauty in that situation? Why or why not?
5. What helps you to stay present in every circumstance? How does your faith influence the way you deal with disruptions in daily life?
July 10: Comfort in Old Age
1. Have you ever felt weak and vulnerable due to a physical ailment? What did you do? How did your faith change your feelings about your situation?
2. When you need support, do you ask others for prayer? Why or why not? How can the prayers of others change our
situations?
3. Do you find that your prayers tend to center more on problems than on gratitude? Why or why not? What helps you to focus your prayers on what you are grateful for?

July 17: The Power of Salt
1. When are you most aware of the power of salt, both literally and metaphorically?
2. What is the most meaningful spiritual lesson you have learned from salt? How do you apply that lesson in your life?
3. Name a person who exemplifies what it means to be salt in the world. How does their example encourage you to be salt as well? How do you know when you are being salt?
4. What does it mean to you to amplify what God is doing in the world? How do you use the unique parts of yourself to add to the work God is doing?

July 24: Bitterness into Beauty

July 31: Restorative Stillness
1. Do you ever feel that you don’t have enough time to dedicate to prayer and being in God’s presence? How is your day different when you dedicate time to be with God?
2. When have you experienced a selah moment? How do selah moments change the way you go through your day?
3. How do you intentionally make time to dwell in God’s presence? Why do you think that time spent in God’s presence is so restorative?
4. Do you find that quick prayers said during other tasks differ from prayers said with intentionality and in stillness? Why or why not? Which type of prayer do you usually prefer?
