The psalmist wrote, “If I could fly on the wings of dawn, . . . [to] the far side of the ocean — even 
there your hand would guide me; even there 
your strong hand would hold me tight!” - Psalm 139:9-10 (CEB)

My great-grandniece, María Camila, started walking at 
the age of ten months. To hone this new skill and feel more secure, she would hold on to someone’s hand. Because she was persistent, the process of learning to walk went faster than it might have.

Our resolve must be different. My prayer is that we have finally reached a tipping point. My hope is that when the protests fade and the marches slow that our will as a church to truly eradicate the scourge of racism won’t dissipate but grows even stronger.”
