Driving through a lush, green forest, I rounded a curve to see hundreds of white cylinders studding a bare hillside. The scene resembled a cemetery marked with rows of tombstones. Then I looked closer. Each white cylinder surrounded a tiny hand-planted sapling, protecting it from nibbling deer and harsh winds....
With each loss, God provides an opportunity for new growth.

Our resolve must be different. My prayer is that we have finally reached a tipping point. My hope is that when the protests fade and the marches slow that our will as a church to truly eradicate the scourge of racism won’t dissipate but grows even stronger.”
