Isaiah 41:8-16

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. - Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

One Sunday while I was stuck at work and regretting that I couldn’t attend church, I recalled the words of Isaiah 41:10, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.” This verse helped me realize that God is with me even when I have to work and cannot participate in a worship service.

One of the blessings I experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic was virtual worship services. Even though I couldn’t go to church physically, I was able to attend worship services easily. And even if I couldn’t view the video at the actual time of worship, I was able to watch it later.

Many people cannot go to worship services because of their work schedules. Others are unable to attend church due to age, sickness, or unavoidable responsibilities. Technology has made virtual worship services possible, and it’s a joy to know that more people are now able to worship in this way. As Isaiah 41:10 assures us, God’s presence is with us wherever we are.
