It has been six years since I first had a devotional published in the Upper Room. My post on the blog at the time pondered whether God might be calling me to write. Since then, my memoir Sandpiper: My Journey with Sight and Blindness was published in 2016. I just completed a second manuscript about my three wonderful Seeing Eye dogs and I hope to have it published soon.

Sharing my story and listening to the stories of others has provided me connections with people in amazing ways I never dreamed of or imagined. I am thankful for God’s blessing this season of my life with a new calling. When I get lost in a new creative project, I always find there is excitement and affirmation, and a feeling of “yes” in my heart and mind. Truly, God is good.
