Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. - Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV)
Recently, I saw an old friend who had hurt me deeply. We smiled at each other and briefly spoke. But inside I still felt bitter. Since the betrayal had happened years ago, I thought I’d forgiven her, but obviously had not. And once again, the anger and pain felt fresh...
I show Christlike compassion when I forgive others.

I join many of those who will pray for you as you seek to discern what you are called to be at this moment. May God grant you the courage to fulfill that calling. May we all open our eyes and see the misery, open our ears and hear the cries of God’s people, and, like God through the Lord Jesus Christ, be incarnate amongst them.”
