[Jesus] answered, “It is written, ‘One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” - Matthew 4:4 (NRSV)
The COVID-19 pandemic filled me with anxiety. The waiting and disruption of normal life made me think of the time when my friend Jane, a hairstylist, injured both hands and became unable to work. In addition to not earning money, Jane couldn’t cook or clean or do much of anything...
Talking with God and reading the Bible help me get through the day.
Someone who cannot work due to injury
Respond by posting a prayer.
I join many of those who will pray for you as you seek to discern what you are called to be at this moment. May God grant you the courage to fulfill that calling. May we all open our eyes and see the misery, open our ears and hear the cries of God’s people, and, like God through the Lord Jesus Christ, be incarnate amongst them.”
